>> Military helicopters have joined the search for at least ten youths swept away in a flash flood in southern Israel. Police say at least seven others are in a critical condition. The search is taking place along the river bed in the Negev desert, where a group of 25 was trekking in the usually bone dry area when the flash flood caught them by surprise.
Israeli police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld says the rescue efforts are continuing.>> Our main emphasis at the moment is to try and find those missing people in order to try and get them to hospital as quick as possible and give them medical attention. The rescue efforts are continuing right now.
>> Israel has had heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours, causing torrents to flow down normally dry riverbeds.
