>> One passenger was killed and seven others injured after a Southwest Airlines plane with a blown engine made an emergency landing Tuesday. And the first passenger fatality on a US commercial plane since 2009. Terrifying moments on the Dallas bound plane. One passenger telling CNN, quote, everybody was going crazy and yelling and screaming.
After the plane suffered an engine failure mid flight, causing it to be diverted to Philadelphia International Airport.>> I can't say that when our aircraft rescue and firefighter units of the Philadelphia Fire Department arrived. They found a fuel leak and a small fire in one of the engines on this 737 aircraft.
>> Helicopter footage showed a blackened engine and a tarmac covered in firefighting foam. Witnesses telling a local station that a woman was injured after she was partially sucked out of the plane when a window shattered. But officials did not confirm this. The plane carrying 143 passengers and five crew members had left from New York's LaGuardia Airport.
