>> In the world of condiments, it doesn't get much more exotic or creepy than this. Tarantula burgers are on the menu again this year at the Bull City Burger and Brewery in Durham, North Carolina. They're not for everyone.>> I am gonna need a green monster.>> Green monster, you want tarantula on that?

>> No, I think I'll pass.>> But for more adventurous diners, even a self-described arachnophobe like Kristen Barnaby, the experience is just too tempting to pass up.>> It's really crunchy. It's actually really good. Yeah, I'm scared of spiders but I just like to eat weird food more, so I wanted to try it.

>> Restaurant owner Seth Gross says the idea for tarantula topped burgers grew out of their annual exotic meat month. Every April for the past six years, the menu has featured everything from iguana and alligator to camel and python.>> I was reading about how in Cambodia, folks will eat tarantulas there.

When the rain season comes, they come out of their burrows. They mix them with salt and sugar, and then they cook them on the streets and it's a street food. And I thought, this would be a great way to really teach about diversity.>> Gross gets only 15 of the farmed, organically-raised tarantulas every year, so diners have to enter a lottery to earn the chance to chow down on the furry, eight-legged creatures.

The lucky winners have up to 48 hours to claim their prize and when every morsel has been consumed, there's a t-shirt attesting to the diner's appetite for arachnids.
