>> A pretty thorough vetting process.>> The White House on Wednesday doubling down on its defense of Dr. Ronny Jackson and itself.>> Are you qualified for this?>> Over charges it failed to adequately vet President Trump's pick to be the next Veterans Affairs Secretary. Whose nomination is in doubt over allegations of misconduct.
00:00:20
>> In fact, because Dr. Jackson has worked within arms reach of three presidents, he has received more vetting than most nominees. Dr. Jackson has had at least four independent background investigations conducted during his time at the White House including an FBI investigation and the investigations revealed no areas of concern.
00:00:38
>> But reports emerged on Wednesday citing a summary compiled by the Democratic staff of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee that said the Navy doctor got intoxicated and wrecked a government vehicle. And during an overseas trip by the Obama administration in 2015, Jackson went out drinking and returned to the delegation's hotel where he began banging on the door of a staff member's hotel room.

Democratic Senator Jon Tester of Montana, who sits on the Veterans Affairs Committee, told National Public Radio that more than 20 military personnel had come forward with concerns about Jackson. Including allegations he improperly handed out prescription drugs and had created a hostile work environment.>> All I can tell you is that we're asking a lot of questions and we're following up on a lot of claims that have been made.
00:01:26
>> Jackson had already been considered an unusual choice to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs, says Reuters Editor Caren Bohan.>> He doesn't have a lot of management experience. He certainly doesn't have management experience running a large enterprise like the VA.>> Jackson's confirmation hearing had been set for Wednesday but was postponed.

No new date for his confirmation hearing has been set.
