A show of unity across the country as thousands of students left their classrooms again to demand stricter gun laws. A second nationwide walkout of the year, Friday, marked the 19th year anniversary of the Columbine massacre where 12 students and a teacher were shot dead. Students from Washington to Indianapolis and Chicago to Allen, Texas rallied for change.
This time organized by Lane Murdoch, a student at Ridgefield High School in Connecticut.>> Today is about being proactive, and being empowered, and really funneling all that energy and anger we have as young people into some productive change.>> Much like students in Parkland, Florida are doing, working to pressure lawmakers for new, tighter gun legislation ahead of the midterm elections.
Students say they are the voters of the future, so lawmakers had better listen to their grave concerns.>>
