en nature shows power like this, there's often little that can be done. Storms and flooding in southwest Germany claiming the lives of four people. A fireman killed as he tried to rescue a man from an underground passing, the man later dying as well. Clean-up work has already begun and investigations too into what happened and why.
> Yesterday, we saw extreme lightning and heavy rainfall. We've never experienced such heavy flooding in such a short period of time before. Local police in Baden-Württemberg say a 13 year old girl was killed by a train. She was thought to have been sheltering under a railway bridge.
Nine people were seriously hurt by lightning strikes in northern France and southwest Germany over the weekend.
