>> The UCLA shooter's second victim, a woman shot dead in her Minnesota home, now identified by her sister on social media Friday as Ashley Hasto. Police say Mainak Sarkar killed Hasti and then drove some 2,000 miles to the Los Angeles campus with a small arsenal to murder two professors.
All three of them were on a kill list later found in Sarkar's home. He only managed to find and kill one of the professors, William Klug. The Wednesday shooting sparked a massive police response and campus-wide lockdown. Hasti, a medical student, married Sarkar in 2011, according to a marriage license obtained by Reuters.
And Hasti's Facebook page shows photos of Sarkar, but not more recently than 2011. Sarkar's page has these photos of them together from 2008. Hasti's sister refers to him as the estranged husband in her post. Sarkar came from India where he graduated in aerospace engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology and got his master's degree at Stanford University.
While his motives for killing are still unclear, police have pointed to a blog post calling Professor Klug a, quote, very sick person and accusing him of stealing his code to give to another student. UCLA students and faculty are planning a second day of tributes to the slain professor.
The LAPD has said it's still looking for Sarkar's car in hopes of finding more evidence to the case.
