>> Over 2,000 migrants brought safely to shore in Italy, others were not so lucky. Hundreds were feared dead on Friday, according to reports from survivors and boat crews. This is the third summer that's seen a surge in numbers attempting the crossing on flimsy vessels. This capsized fishing boat was found on Wednesday, 5 were already dead, and 500 rescued.
Many are fleeing bombs, bullets and starvation. But often, there is little respite in Europe. Idomeni Migrant Camp on the Greek-Macedonia border has been cleared. This group of refugees refused to leave, fearing conditions in Greece's military run camps.>> The conditions of some of the sites that refugees and migrants were transferred to, fall well below minimum standards.
They have been moved into derelict warehouses and factories.>> So far this year, an estimated 1,500 migrants have died in the Mediterranean. But despite this, many more are still waiting to cross.
