>> Tesla's gearing up to bring its Model 3 Sedan to the masses even faster. I'm Alexandria Sage with Reuters in San Francisco. Suppliers have been telling us that they only heard three months ago about Tesla's very aggressive timeline for production of the Model 3. Tesla wants to make a half million cars including its existing Model S and Model X cars by 2018, that's two years.
They're doing this because Tesla received almost 400,000 preorders for the Model 3. This is big demand that Tesla now wants to meet faster but suppliers say some of them, that it will be difficult to meet such an accelerated time frame. All this is happening to a company which is repeatedly experienced delays in prior years.
The Model S Was delayed, the Model X it's still struggling to deliver cars. Elon Musk says he's hellbent on making Tesla a manufacturing power house. But again suppliers caution that it could be an unrealistic goal that Elon Musk has set for his company.
