>> A river of mud and rock burying three villages in Central Sri Lanka. More that a 150 people fear dead. Days of heavy rains soaking the ground and triggering two massive landslides in the remote area. Rescue workers have pulled out more than a dozen bodies, while hundreds of villagers make their way to relief camp set up in the area.
President Maithripala Sirisena flew to the area to check up on the operation and meet with families of the victims. Officials put the death toll at close to 40. Although that is expected to rise sharply as rescue workers continued their grim task of searching for bodies.
