Those 700,000 immigrants, members of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA program, face a March 5th deadline.
That's the date Trump gave Congress to find a solution for those immigrants. He has offered a path to citizenship for the Dreamers but only on the condition that he get's funding for a U.S./Mexico border wall and other security measures.>> They've given up on DACA.>> At a meeting with Customs and Border Protection Officials in Virginia, on Friday, he took aim at Democrats.
Who have said repeatidly, they want continued protections for the Dreamers.>> We want to make a deal. I think they want to use it for political purposes for elections. I'm not really, I'm not happy with the way it's going from the standpoint of the Democrats negotiating.>> The president's remarks came as Republican lawmakers begin returning from a retreat where there were no closer reaching a consensus on the dreamers.
