>> All UK industries will be hurt by leaving the European Union. A headline bound to increase pressure on British Prime Minister Teresa May as she pushes ahead with her plans for Brexit. BuzzFeed claims they have leaked analysis from within the British government, titled EU Exit Analysis Cross Whitehall Briefing, dated January this year.
The report examines three potential Brexit scenarios. And all are worse off after leaving the EU. BuzzFeed sighting the report claims UK growth over the next 15 years will be 5% lower than current forecast. In the event of a comprehensive trade deal between the UK and EU, growth will be cut by 8% over the same period if Britain returns to World Trade Organization rules under a no deal situation.
All UK regions will be affected by the UK's exit according to the report, with maximum impact in the Northeast, West Midlands, and Northern Ireland. Britain is due to exit the EU on March 29, 2019. But there are deep divisions inside May's government and party about what sort of relationship should replace 46 years of membership.
The Department for Exiting the EU has declined to comment on the report.
