>> The former boss of disgraced USA gymnastics doctor, Larry Nassar, who was convicted of sexually assaulting scores of young athletes, faces sexual misconduct charges of his own. 70 year old William Strampel was arraigned via video Tuesday in a Michigan court. He was arrested after police allegedly found nude photos, pornography, and a video of one of Larry Nassar's examinations on Strampel's computer, and was accused of forcible sexual contact by a medical student.
>> We did what we felt we needed to do. I mean it led us to where we are today>> Strample served as Dean of Michigan State's College of Osteopathic Medicine from 2002, until he stepped down citing health reasons late last year. He was supposed to be overseeing Nassar's clinic, a place where multiple victims were sexually assaulted by the doctor
>> I knew that he abused me, I reported it.>> The latest charges stem from an investigation into the school's handling of complaints against Nassar. Now prosecutors say complaints were ignored and protocols to protect students never enforced. Nassar's victims have been saying it all along.>> The response of Dean William Strampel was to send an email to Larry that day and tell him quote, good luck, I am on your side.
>> Strampel's attorney said Strampel responded appropriately to complaints about Nassar, and denied all of the allegations of misconduct.>> We don't even know who these individuals are, and there were no romantic relationships with anyone.>> Strampel was released on $25,000 bond and ordered not to contact any witnesses, victims, or any current or former Michigan State medical students.
