The site has been a target of previous militant attacks. And came as people celebrated a holiday marking the start of the Persian new year. It's widely celebrated in Afghanistan, but faces opposition from some fundamentalist Muslims. Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack. This latest blast underlines the ongoing threat to the city from militants, despite government promises to tighten security in the wake of a January attack which killed over 100 people.
