>> President Donald Trump lashing out over the Russia investigation in a series of tweets over the weekend declaring his own innocence and shifting the blame to law makers, law enforcement and the media in the wake of special counsel Robert Mueller's indictments of 13 Russians for interfering in the 2016 election.
I never said Russia did not meddle in the election, Trump said in one tweet. The Russian hoax was that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, it never did. Trump dished backhanded praise at top house intelligence committee Democrat Adam Schiff, thanking him for quote, blaming the Obama administration for Russia's 2016 meddling.
Shift told NBC News Friday that Obama's administration should have set up quote, more forceful deterrent against cyberattacks in 2016. Speaking to CNN Sunday, Shiff called out Trump for sitting on Russia sanctions Congress passed last year. Of Trump's comments, Schiff said quote, this is a president who claims vindication anytime someone sneezes.
Trump also tweeted Saturday that the FBI missed warnings about last week's Florida shooting because the agency was spending too much time on the Russia investigation. That wasn't all. Facebook Vice President of Ads, Rob Goldman, found himself as Trump's foil when Goldman tweeted that he could quote, say very definitively that swaying the election was not the main goal of Russia's campaign.
Only to have Trump retweet it as part of an attack against quote fake news. Goldman walked those comments back later, saying Russia did favor Trump, but that its campaign is ongoing and must be addressed. Trump rounded out his barrage Sunday by saying the continued turmoil over the investigation was playing into Russia's hands.
Tweeting quote, they are laughing their asses off in Moscow.
