ums, pound out the rhythm as revelers across Brazil celebrate Carnival. In Rio de Janeiro, the city's famed, samba schools, parade through the specialty built samba drone, in their dazzling costumes. Each group is judged on their choreography and outfits. The winners show off their skills again, at the special winters parade, February 17.
The main prize, bragging rights in Rio's poor community.>>
> With all my being, with all my heart, with all my soul, and with all my life. This is what people love, and we do it because we like it.>> Cities across Brazil will resound for another week, with street concerts, parades, and dancing.
Lots of dancing. Even pets and their owners, joining in at their own special street party.>> Nowadays, Brazil's dog population is very big. Many families are choosing to have a dog, instead of a child.>> About a million residents and tourists are expected at the festivities in Rio alone.
The party runs until Ash Wednesday, when Catholics began marking the period of Lent ahead of Easter.
