The latest twist in the investigation into Russian meddling in the US election. Rick Gates, former Deputy Campaign Manager for Trump, admitted to conspiring against the United States and lying to investigators.
Gates served alongside former Campaign Chair, Paul Manafort, also indicted by special counsel, Robert Mueller. Manafort holding firm in a statement Friday, saying. I had hoped and expected my business colleague would have had the strength to continue the battle to prove our innocence. For reasons yet to surface, he chose to do otherwise.
