>> Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's enthusiastic embrace of Indian outfits during his eight day visit evoked mixed reactions in the host country. While some cheered his love for the local culture, others said his bold choices were a bit much.>> I think he should be focusing more on building strong harmonious relationship between the two countries rather than focusing on matching the outfits.
>> I think if he really wants to portray that bond, he should take some stringent actions against Khalistan terrorist, or the separatists we have in Canada. I think that would be more Indian than wearing those clothes.>> The Trudeau family's glitzy dresses created quite a stir on social media as well.
Indian politician Omar Abdullah tweeted, quote, FYI we Indians don't dress like this every day sir, not even in Bollywood. Speaking of which, here is the Canadian first family with actual Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan dressed simply in black. The trip partly aimed at shoring up support for Trudeau's liberals among the politically important ethnic vote in key regions, has also been criticized for being light on official government business.
But Trudeau and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi did meet Friday to discuss investment, trade and energy.
